The Capitol Forum has hired Anne MacGregor as its Brussels bureau chief, a new position.
MacGregor will lead the news organization’s European Union merger and acquisitions analysis and reporting out of the home to the major councils and commissions of the European Union.
“She will extend our existing coverage in the U.S. so that it becomes truly transatlantic in scope,” said Capitol Forum executive editor and chief executive officer Teddy Downey in an email to Talking Biz News.
Capitol Forum is an investigative news and legal analysis company dedicated to informing policymakers, investors, and industry stakeholders on how policy affects market competition.
MacGregor was a national partner at Dechert LLP in Brussels where she advised clients on EU competition law and regulatory matters in a variety of industries. MacGregor has over two decades of experience in the Brussels EU arena, in particular a deep knowledge of EU and multijurisdictional mergers and acquisitons.
An attorney, MacGregor established and built the specialist merger control analysis reporting unit within MLex’s Brussels office while acting as in-house counsel to the fledgling news service in 2007 and 2008.
Her law degree is from the University of Hamburg.
