Capitol Forum hires Rucker from Reuters to cover finance

Capitol Forum has hired Reuters reporter Patrick Rucker to cover Wall Street and finance.

He starts next week.

Rucker has been at Reuters since September 2006, primarily in Washington but he also spent three years reporting in Mexico. His most recent beat was covering Wall Street and consumer issues. He also spent six years covering energy and environmental issues.

Rucker, a University of Richmond graduate, also worked at the Chicago Tribune.

Capitol Forum is Washington-based news service digging deep into the connection between business and government regulation.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
