Jeffrey Hodgson, the business editor for the Canadian Press, a national news agency headquartered in Toronto, has left the organization for a job at CPP Investment board.
He had just become business editor in February. Before that, Hodgson had been with Reuters for the past 20 years.
He was deputy bureau chief in Toronto from March 2013 to June 2015, helping to oversee the Reuters Canadian reporting team, which included bureaus in Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver. Before that he was editor in charge of Canadian economy and markets coverage from January 2009 to March 2013.
Hodgson also spent three years in Hong Kong as an Asia funds correspondent and three years in London as a correspondent covering European financial markets, derivatives exchanges, and the fund management industry.
He worked for Bloomberg in Toronto from October 1994 to January 1996.
Hodgson is a Carleton University graduate.
