Callanan named Bloomberg’s London bureau chief

Neil Callanan

Neil Callanan has been named London bureau chief at Bloomberg News.

Callanan was previously team leader for real estate, financial regulation and investing coverage for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He joined Bloomberg in September 2011 as a real estate reporter and became an editor in 2015.

Callanan was previously deputy business editor and then business editor of The Sunday Tribune from May 2008 to February 2011. He was also a senior news reporter for the Sunday Business Post for four years.

He holds a journalism degree from Dublin City University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
