The Vacaville Reporter newspaper in California has dropped printing stock listings in the paper, according to a short story.

Vacaville ReporterThe story stated, “Beginning next week The Reporter no longer will published its three-page summaries in the Sunday edition. Today marks the end of those reports.

“‘We’ve found that those who invest have better ways to check their stocks or mutual funds,’ said Publisher Steve Huddleston. ‘Consequently, what we give readers on Sundays is not only outdated, but in most cases, ignored.’

“Some readers certainly will be frustrated by the loss of the listings, he said. ‘But we held on longer than most newspapers. This simply isn’t a job we do very well. Our online edition, TheReporter.com can link you immediately to the latest stock and mutual fund values. Why use the printed paper when our electronic newspaper does it better and faster?'”
