California paper cuts Sunday standalone business section

The Santa Cruz Sentinel in California is cutting its standalone business section on Sundays, writes editor Don Miller.

Miller writes, “In addition to adding the TV booklet, the Sunday paper will change in other ways. Our Business section will move into the ‘A’ section. We’re adding a weekly roundup of the stock market and a personal finance column, and discontinuing the weekend Wall Street Journal section.”

At least 16 daily newspapers have eliminated their standalone Sunday or Monday business sections. Some of those papers, such as the Baltimore Sun, had also eliminated their standalone section during the week.
