BuzzFeed needs business editor

BuzzFeed says it is looking to hire a business editor.

The job description:

We’re looking for an experienced business journalist to act as a player-coach for a small, focused team covering the news and ideas driving the business conversation from the key companies in Silicon Valley to their bankers on Wall Street. The successful candidate will be comfortable with both the ideas and the facts driving thebusiness conversation, be at home on the social web, and be interested in stretching out onto new platforms.

This job is based in our NYC offices, and we offer competitive compensation and stock option program.

Responsibilities:
  • Write and edit daily.
  • Choose and manage a small team of reporters and bloggers.
  • Write and edit pieces that will break into and drive the conversation.
Requirements:
  • Deep experience on some element of business journalism
  • Established social media presence
  • No haters

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
