BuzzFeed business names deputy editor, senior reporter

BuzzFeed business editor Tom Gara sent out the following announcement on Wednesday afternoon:

Hi all – a couple of updates from the land of dollar signs here at BuzzFeed Business:

Venessa Wong is now our deputy editor. As you all know, Venessa has been absolutely killing it covering the food business, and reporting will still be her number one priority. But she’ll also be contributing her excellent eye for writing and reporting to make everyone’s work better. Hooray Venessa.
And Sapna Maheshwari is now a senior reporter, in recognition of her consistent streak of amazing work dating back to the earliest days of BuzzFeed Business. She’ll be aiming even higher this year, taking the biggest and most ambitious swings possible in an effort to break more news, kick more asses and generally run the game even more than she already does. Hooray Sapna.
It’s such a joy to get to work with these two, and this fantastic newsroom is a better place with them around. Hooray, etc.
