Buyouts magazine votes to join union

The employees at Buyouts magazine, a Thomson Reuters publication, voted for Newspaper Guild representation by a 5-1 vote, despite a company challenge that resulted in an NLRB hearing and a three-week captive audience campaign.

Those joining the union are Bernard Vaughan, Erin Griffith, Steve Bills, Eamon Beltran, Nancy Gordon and Ari Nathanson. Gordon, Nathanson and Vaughan are senior editors. Griffith is associate editor, while Beltran is research editor.

Buyouts, which has been in existence for 21 years, covers news about leveraged and manegement buyouts. It was part of Thomson when the company merged with Reuters.

The bimonthly publication has reports on new funds and fund closes, deals, exits, general partners, limited partners, deal makers, intermediaries and more.
