Business reporter enjoys new role

Cliff White, the new business reporter at the Centre Daily Times, writes about changing beats from covering 16 counties for Pennsylvania Business Central.

White writes, “Two weeks ago, I was hired to take over for Nick Malawskey, covering local business for the Centre Daily Times. So far, I’ve enjoyed the change of pace, my supremely friendly co-workers and the elimination of day trips to Westmoreland County from my weekly schedule.

“What most excites me about the move, though, is the ability to completely focus my energies on covering the dynamic economy of State College.

“Nowhere in the region can you find a broader mix of industries, from tech to service, from defense to education. We have one of the largest employers in the state in Penn State, a host of solid, medium-sized companies and a thriving culture of entrepreneurialism.”
