Taylor Wanbaugh is the new assistant editor of Business North Carolina, which has a monthly print magazine and a website with daily content.
She previously worked as a staff writer at the National Society of Professional Engineers in Alexandria, Virginia.
She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. While in school, Wanbaugh interned at a variety of publications including the Raleigh News & Observer, Columbia Business Times and The Columbia Missourian.
Wanbaugh succeeds Allison Williams, who left Business North Carolina in February voluntarily.
Wanbaugh writes, “It was difficult to leave my job and apartment in the D.C. area behind, but I didn’t hesitate at the chance to relocate to Charlotte. I grew up in Cary, and I always knew that I wanted to end up back in North Carolina.
“It’s hard to find a reason not to like living in North Carolina. There’s not many states that can brag about having both beautiful beaches and a wide stretch of mountains. I love the tangy, vinegar-based Carolina BBQ almost as much as I love its buttery, warm biscuits and bottles of sweet Cheerwine. It’s the true home of the first flight, no matter how many times Ohioans try and tell you otherwise.”
