The Fort Worth Business Press plans to launch a business magazine called FWB CEO.
A story on its website states, “Paul K. Harral, a journalist in Fort Worth for three decades, has signed on as editor of FWB CEO and will spearhead the June launch of the magazine, which will fill a gap in news coverage of area CEOs and other top business executives.
“Harral also will serve as associate editor of the Fort Worth Business Press, joining a newsroom management team that is headed by Editor Robert Francis and also includes veteran journalist Bill Thompson.
“‘Luck beats careful planning,’ said Richard L. Connor, chairman of DRC Media. ‘I have had a longtime goal of working again with Paul Harral and the timing of this was serendipitous. We scheduled the launch date of our magazine two months ago and suddenly Paul was available.’
“‘When I was publisher of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Paul helped us build it into one of the country’s best daily and Sunday newspapers,’ said Connor. ‘Then he made his mark bringing quality journalism to a city magazine. What a perfect match for us. And now we have the three best editors in Fort Worth all under one roof.’
“Harral held many executive level positions at the Star-Telegram, including vice president and editor of the editorial page. He was the architect of the newspaper’s separate business publication, Tarrant Business, and after leaving the Star-Telegram he became executive editor and editor emeritus of a local magazine, Fort Worth, Texas. He expanded that publication’s content to include in-depth, issue-related journalism.”
