Paul Szoldra, the front page editor for Business Insider, will be moving soon to California to open a West Coast bureau for the website.

Business Insider editor in chief and founder Henry Blodget told Talking Biz News:

Paul’s an excellent digital journalist and has been a key member of our team for the last couple of years. He’s going to be one of the anchors of our new West Coast bureau. The bureau will enable us to cover the tech industry more deeply and bring Business Insider closer to 24-hour coverage.

Blodget later added that the San Francisco office will open in a “few months” and be staffed by three to five people within six months.

Szoldra joined Business Insider in January. He’s a former infantry squad leader and instructor in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in such places as Afghanistan, Korea, Japan, and Thailand.

He has a B.S. in entrepreneurship from the University of Tampa and is pursuing an M.A. in digital journalism from the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg.
