Business Insider hires Denver Biz Journal’s Rodriguez

Denver Business Journal real estate reporter James Rodriguez has been hired by Business Insider to cover real estate.

His last day at the Business Journal is Sept. 30. He will start at Business Insider on Oct. 18 and will be based in New York.

Rodriguez will mostly be covering residential real estate, with potentially some commercial real estate coverage as well.

He has been at the Business Journal since June 2018, first as a data reporter and then as a real estate reporter since January 2020.

Rodriguez is a University of Texas graduate.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
