Business as usual for biz journal staff after deal

Joel Berg of the Central Penn Business Journal writes about the weekly newspaper in the wake of its deal to be sold to Gatehouse Media.

Berg writes, “I don’t know any details of what will happen next, since the deal hasn’t officially closed. But what I can share are the intentions of our editorial team here at the Business Journal.

“We intend to continue delivering hard-hitting, valuable news, both online and in print, that informs and brings together the business leaders of Central Pennsylvania.

“In doing so, we will build on a reputation earned over more than 30 years of hard work and dedication. It began with David A. Schankweiler, who founded the publication in 1984, and has run it with his wife, Donna.

“They have built and coached a strong team that will remain in place after the transition to new ownership. Readers should not notice any differences.”
