Wired associate engagement manager Kam Burns will be leaving the company to join Politico as an engagement editor on the audience team.
Burns joined Wired in 2018 as a social media coordinator, before being promoted to his current post, where he developed new methods of engagement on platforms such as Twitch, TikTok and Reddit.
He also promoted editorial content on Facebook and Twitter accounts, including breaking news and contributed to the overall engagement strategy, including newsletters, homepage, and event coverage.
Prior to joining Wired, Burns was a social media intern at The New York Times. He has also interned at The Hartford Courant, WBUR, and PolitiFact. He has also part of WNPR – digital production internship at Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network.
He was also part of Politico Journalism Institute where he worked with a mentor to publish content for Politico on tax policy. He also participated in seminars at American University and with the Meynard Institute and Politico correspondents on diversity and journalism.
Additionally, he has also served as a metro correspondent at The Boston Globe.
