James Fink of Buffalo Business First writes about the 30th anniversary of the American City Business Journals paper.

Fink writes, “Through it all, Business First has been the media outlet to break news, originally in a weekly paper format that hit the streets every Saturday and now evolved into a website updated several times a day and using other social media outlets as well as its weekly publication.

“The publication, owned by American City Business Journals of Charlotte, began as an aggressive newspaper that put a premium on not only breaking business stories but offering detailed analysis and the “story behind the story.”

“It has been that way since the fall of 1984 and remains that way some 1,560 issues later.

“‘It is truly hard to believe that we have been publishing Buffalo Business First for 30 years,’ said Jack Connors, Business First publisher.

“Connors along with Managing Editor Donna Collins have been with Business First from the beginning. Together, they have shepherded the paper and its staff through countless changes in a challenging industry. They have also been eyewitness to the good, the bad and the ugly.”
