Brooks to write personal finance column for Washington Post

Washington Post business editor Greg Schneider and Sunday Business Editor Kelly Johnson sent out the following announcement on Friday:

We are thrilled to announce that Rodney A. Brooks, the former personal finance editor and columnist for USA Today, will be writing a regular retirement and personal finance column for The Washington Post.

Rodney has had a long and distinguished career in financial journalism, and worked at USA from 1985 until his recent retirement. (He once tried to hire a young writer named Michelle Singletary, but luckily The Post beat him to it). Rodney’s book, “Is One Million Dollars Enough: A Guide to Planning for and Living Through a Successful Retirement,” was published in February.

Rodney’s brand of practical advice and accessible, clear writing has made him one of the most popular wealth planning columnists anywhere. We are excited to be able to offer his column every other week in Sunday Business and on our own successful personal finance site, Get There, which is run by Jonnelle Marte.

The combination of Rodney, Jonnelle and Michelle gives us a formidable lineup of personal finance experts that we think is second to none. Please look for Rodney’s column to debut by the end of June.
