Corie Lok, former special projects editor for Xconomy, has joined Broad Institute as its new managing editor on its communications team.
Broad Institute is a research organization created by MIT and Harvard to further explore the genetic basis of disease, and how to translate that understanding into more effective prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Prior to her time at Xconomy, Lok spent more than a decade working for Nature Publishing Group, and before that, served as the associate editor for the MIT Technology Review.
Lok graduated from the University of Guelph with a B.S. in food science and received her masters from Boston University in science and medical journalism.
