Boston Globe biz editor moving to opinion section

Mark Pothier, the business editor of the Boston Globe, has been named assistant managing editor for opinion at the paper.

He has been the business editor since July 2013. In December, he oversaw the roll out of a standalone business section at  the Globe.

Pothier joined the Globe in 2001, having previously worked as executive editor of a group of weekly newspapers owned by the Patriot Ledger. He later was named an assistant business editor and deputy business editor.
