Boston Biz Journal reporter Mintz joining RTO Insider

Sam Mintz

Boston Business Journal and Bostinno reporter Sam Mintz has been hired by RTO Insider to be its New England correspondent.

He will be covering the region’s electric grid and climate policy.

Mintz, a native of Greater Boston, has been at the American City Business Journals publications since September. He previously was at Politico, where he has been a transportation reporter and author of the enewsletter Morning Transportation.

He is a graduate of Brandeis University, where he studied political science and journalism. Prior to Politico, he worked at E&E News, where he covered energy policy at federal agencies and in Congress.

Before his time in Washington, D.C., Mintz was at the Cape Cod Times, where he reported on local government, politics and crime.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
