Boston Biz Journal ME leaves for a job in PR

Bill Lane, managing editor of the Boston Business Journal since 2001, is leaving the weekly newspaper to join The Castle Group, a public relations and events management agency, according to a press release put out by the PR firm.

Lane joins The Castle Group as vice president, public relations. He will work with the agency’s clients to craft and implement communications and media relations strategies. He will also help grow the agency’s roster of client companies.

Lane was business editor of the MetroWest Daily News and he supervised bureaus in six Northeastern cities for online business news Web site dBusiness.com, in addition to his work as managing editor of the Boston Business Journal, an all-business newspaper in New England.

Lane, who lives in Boston, is co-author of two books and a former commercial pilot. He earned a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
