She started on Monday. She will be doing data-driven journalism and digging into stories and special projects in different industries.
Burns has been covering community banking at American Banker. She previously covered banking, technology and entrepreneurship at the Charlotte Business Journal.
Burns also completed a month-long journalism fellowship in Boston with the GroundTruth Project where she will be reporting on the lack of women in technology leadership roles.
