The Idaho Statesman, the McClatchy daily in Boise, is working on a weekly business magazine called Business Insider.
The magazine’s first issue is expected to be released next Wednesday, Jan. 12. The plan is to sell subscriptions.
Dave Staats, the editor at the Statesman who oversees business news coverage, did not respond to a request for comment about the new publication.
However, Talking Biz News called the Statesman’s circulation department and discovered that for subscribers, the cost will be $25 a year, and the magazine will come with the Wednesday paper. For non-subscribers, the cost will be $62.50 a year, and the magazine will be mailed.
The circulation department didn’t know anything about the content, but this brief in the Statesman earlier this week disclosed that one of the features will be about businesses less than six months old. And this blog post from earlier this week implies that one of the stories in the first issue will be about the future of a former furniture store in Boise now being renovated.
