Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business will name its boardroom in honor of Eugene Miller, one of the founders of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, in its new building on Feb. 24.
Miller, an adjunct professor and executive-in-residence at the college, helped create a course called “Executive Factor” that has brought more than 140 CEOs onto the campus in the past 15 years to talk to MBA students.
Miller was a reporter and an assistant city editor for the Greensboro Daily News in North Carolina, and then Southwest bureau chief for BusinessWeek magazine. At 29, he become associated managing editor of BusinessWeek in New York, and he later was a syndicated columnist for Newsday. He also served as business editor of the NBC-TV “Today” show.
After his career in business journalism, Miller worked as a vice president at McGraw-Hill, the parent company of BusinessWeek, and a senior vice president of the New York Stock Exchange.
Miller has a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and an MBA from New York University. He now lives in Boca Raton near the Florida Atlantic campus.
