BNN Bloomberg hires Durrani as national biz reporter

Temur Durrani

Temur Durrani of the Winnipeg Free Press has been hired by BNN Bloomberg as a national business reporter based in Toronto.

At the Press, Durrani covered the economic impact of the pandemic. He has been at the paper since June 2020.

Previously, Durrani was an enterprise reporter at Brunswick News Inc. Before that, he was a staff writer at iPolitics Canada. He has also served as a news editor at Charlatan Publications Inc. and as a staff reporter at Toronto Star.

In addition, he has held the posts of magazine intern and news intern at Dawn News and The Express Tribune, respectively.

Durrani holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and law from Carleton University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
