Bloomberg’s Mehrotra joins ProPublica to cover immigration and labor

ProPublica has tapped former Bloomberg reporter Kartikay Mehrotra to cover issues at the intersection of immigration and labor.

He begins Dec. 1.

Mehrotra has been with Bloomberg for 10 years, recently working as a cybersecurity reporter. Before that, he has served as a legal reporter, economy and government reporter, technology reporter and a reporter covering Indian trade and energy policy. He was a staff reporter at Rockford Register Star and was a statehouse reporter at Lee Enterprises.

Additionally, his work has been honored by the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing, the North American Agricultural Journalists, the Society of Publishers in Asia and the San Francisco Press Club.

Mehrotra holds a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois-Springfield.
