Bloomberg’s Holloway departs for NBC to produce podcast

Doni Holloway, who produced the daily Bloomberg Businessweek podcast and then its weekend show, has left Bloomberg News for NBC.

Holloway is becoming the producer of the “Why Is This Happening?” podcast with Chris Hayes.

“It’s been exhilarating to cover some of the biggest stories impacting the worlds of business and global finance,” he wrote on Facebook. “What a journey it has been. I’m grateful for the myriad experiences with some incredible colleagues.”

He had been at Bloomberg since June 2018, originally working in the television operation.

Holloway is a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate in broadcast journalism. While there, he was anchor of “Carolina Week.”

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
