Bloomberg’s chat function crashes

Bloomberg’s chat function – which the company brags is the first ever social network – has gone down Tuesday morning, and people in the industry are not happy, reports Robin Wigglesworth of the Financial Times.

Wigglesworth writes, “The chat system, formally known as Instant Bloomberg, is how thousands of traders, analysts and money managers constantly interact, and is one of the most important functions on its ubiquitous terminal.”

“According to a person familiar with the outage at Bloomberg, it’s an ‘internal issue’ that the company expect to be resolved soon. ‘Service is being restored now,’ the person said.”
