Javier Blas
Bloomberg News chief energy correspondent Javier Blas will be moving to Bloomberg Opinion in 2022.
He will write about energy and commodities.
Blas joined Bloomberg in 2015 and is the co-author of “The World For Sale: Money, Power, and the Traders Who Barter the Earth’s Resources.” He previously was Africa editor at the FT for the past 18 months, based in London.
Before that, he was commodities editor and a commodities correspondent. He managed the oil and commodities coverage of the Financial Times with correspondents and reporters in London and New York. He also launched the annual FT Global Commodities Summit, the largest gathering of C-suite executives in the commodities trading sector.
Blas previously worked for Expansion, a Spanish-based business publication.
He is a graduate of the University of Navarra.
