Bloomberg Gadfly hires Gandel from Fortune

Stephen Gandel

Bloomberg Gadfly executive editor Tim O’Brien and senior executive editor David Shipley sent out the following announcement to the staff:

Greetings Folks —

David Shipley and I are pleased to let you know that Stephen Gandel will be joining Gadfly’s New York team on April 24, where he will be covering the equity markets. Mark Gongloff played a pivotal role in helping us reel in Stephen.

Stephen has been Fortune’s deputy digital editor since 2012; he also writes informed, insightful and deft columns about business and finance. Over the years he has also written and edited for Time, Money, Crain’s New York Business, and Individual Investor.

A graduate of Washington University, Stephen has won a number of journalism awards including a SABEW in finance this year for his banking coverage. As the SABEW judges noted, Stephen demonstrated “an array of good reporting skills” that, as in all of his work, was matched by fine writing.

Please welcome him aboard.
