Bloomberg TV’s Cook to join Pentagon

Bloomberg TV chief Washington correspondent Peter Cook will join the Pentagon as spokesman, according to an announcement sent on Friday.

Claudia Milne, global head of Bloomberg Television, wrote:

Please join me in congratulating our chief Washington correspondent, Peter Cook, who will join the Pentagon as spokesman next month.

This is an incredible opportunity for Peter and we are thrilled for him. He’s following his calling of public service and we couldn’t be more proud of him. As we all know, he’s been an invaluable member of our Washington team, and his calmness under pressure (and flawless hair) will serve him well in this new role.

We wish him the very best.

Cook joined Bloomberg Television in 2003. Prior to joining Bloomberg Television, Cook was a producer and reporter for NBC News and MSNBC in Washington. Before that, he helped launch EnergyNewsLive.com as Washington bureau chief. Cook also spent10 years in local television as an anchor and reporter.

He is a graduate of Duke University and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
