Bloomberg TV’s Betty Liu getting radio show

Betty Liu, an anchor on Bloomberg Television, will have her own radio show beginning next week.

This coming Monday, Bloomberg Radio will launches “In the Loop At the Half” with host Liu. It’s a new radio show airing at 12 p.m, to 12:30 p.m. ET featuring a look at market activity and what investors can expect in the afternoon as they head to the close.

This is the first dedicated radio program for Bloomberg’s Liu, who anchors a daily TV program “In the Loop” as well as special programs including the newly launched “Singapore Sessions” and “Titans at the Table” for Bloomberg TV.

Liu was formerly an anchor and correspondent for CNBC Asia, based in Hong Kong. She covered the daily market action in the Greater China region for all of CNBC’s morning shows including the signature program “Squawk Box.” She anchored the coverage of the China market meltdown in February 2007.

In addition, Liu was once the Atlanta bureau chief of The Financial Times.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
