Bloomberg TV to clean up its on-air screen

Brian Stelter of The New York Times writes for Monday’s newspaper that Bloomberg TV plans to clean up its cluttered on-air look later this year, just as competition increases for business news watchers on TV with the launch of the Fox Business Network.

Stelter wrote, “But within the television industry, Bloomberg TV is largely an afterthought in a lucrative genre dominated by CNBC.

“That could be changing as the marketplace for television business news heats up. In October, News Corp. is scheduled to begin airing the Fox Business Network, attracting new attention to the financial television news niche and setting up a showdown with CNBC.

“Executives say the timing is coincidental, but Bloomberg TV has also been making changes of its own. The most dramatic will happen in early October, when Bloomberg TV does away with the trademark scrawl along the bottom of its screen in favor of a cleaner, more contextual look.”

  • the "cleaner more contextual"look is totally disappointing feel Bloomberg is wrong to think of it's show as an"afterthought".The viewing world of information junkies, spawned on by Kramerica and his ilk,is exploding worldwide.People want all the information they need NOW.That was their niche and they blew it.
