Bloomberg TV names Wehrspann head of morning TV in U.S. in reorganization

Matthew Levine, head of U.S. programming and executive producer at Bloomberg Television, sent out the following announcement on Monday:

We’re putting the finishing touches on a hugely successful January. Al has shared the details of our achievements at the World Economic Forum in Davos. We’ve started the year with standout event coverage at CES, the Detroit Auto Show and the JPMorgan Healthcare Conference, while smartly canvassing the Trump transition, inauguration and first 100 days: what will remain the biggest story for our audience in the months to come.

Along with the launch of interactive TV, we’re well positioned to leverage this momentum. To do so, I wanted to share some staffing announcements.

Rachel Wehrspann will become Executive Producer of Bloomberg Daybreak Americas, while continuing as Executive Producer of Bloomberg Surveillance. Rachel will oversee both programs, simultaneously defining each show’s unique value proposition and forging smart synergies that aim to build momentum across the daypart.

Keiren Buchanan will become Team Leader for Bloomberg Surveillance and Jamie Berland will become Team Leader for Bloomberg Daybreak Americas. Both Keiren and Jamie will report to Rachel.

David Meyers will become Executive Producer of both Bloomberg Markets Americas and What’d You Miss?. David has already been overseeing this daypart on an interim basis. He will be tasked with implementing our strategy and creating better continuity across the market day.

Chelsea Hoon and Courtney Collins will become Team Leaders, acting as deputies for David, each taking responsibility for half of our market-day programming. Chelsea will focus on 10:00a-12:00p ET as well as 2:00p-3:30p ET. Courtney will focus on 12:00p-2:00p as well as 3:30p-5:00p ET.

Tim Andreacci will become Team Leader of Markets content. He will work with our markets reporters and producers, not to mention show teams, on how we cover markets. Additionally, Tim will lead the launch of a weekly Fixed Income program, providing our audience a valuable window into the underserved asset class and capitalizing on Bloomberg’s competitive advantages in the space. He will still contribute to What’d You Miss? and he will report to David Meyers.

Claire Obusan will become line producer for the 12:00p-2:00p show, working with David and Courtney on those hours. Andrew Pourinski will become line producer of the 10:00a-12:00p show, working with David and Chelsea. Marissa Dunn will become line producer of Bloomberg Daybreak Americas. Sarah Lazar will become a producer on Bloomberg Daybreak Americas, having excelled as an associate producer. Jackie Lopez will become an associate producer on Bloomberg Technology.

All of these role changes take effect on Monday.

Finally, Kevin Cirilli has joined Bloomberg TV as our Chief Washington Correspondent. Already, we’ve seen the benefit of his excellent reporting, deep sourcing and tolerance for long days. He’ll be based in DC, reporting to Christine Baratta. Kat Glass will take on a temporary assignment, field producing out of DC. This ramp-up in newsgathering speaks to the importance of distinguishing our coverage around the new administration.
