September 27, 2010

Bloomberg Television announced Monday that Linda Yueh has joined the network as a London-based economics correspondent.

Yueh, a fellow at Oxford University and an economist, joins Bloomberg Television’s markets desk.  She will cover breaking news and provide analysis of top stories including the impact of the European debt crisis on markets around the world.  Yueh will appear on Bloomberg Television’s weekday morning programming, including “The Pulse with Andrea Catherwood” and “On the Move with Francine Lacqua.”

“Linda’s work as an economist allows her to read behind the numbers and understand the underlying trends impacting the marketplace,” said Brian Martinez, international managing director, Bloomberg Television, in a statement. “We’re pleased to add her insight to our Bloomberg markets desk.”

Yueh brings significant expertise in economic policy, global finance and business developments in Europe, the U.S. and Asia.  Prior to joining Bloomberg Television, Yueh served as a contributor to BBC Two, where she provided commentary and analysis of the UK general election and budget.  She has also served as a contributor to BBC One and ITV and covered the G-20 Summit for Channel Four in England.  In addition to serving as a fellow at Oxford University, where she earned her degree in economics, she contributes to research on economic performance, international affairs, diplomacy and strategy at The London School of Economics and Political Science.

“I am delighted to be joining the industry’s finest business news team,” said Yueh in a statement. “I look forward to helping add clarity and analysis to Bloomberg TV’s coverage of key economic news and market developments around the globe.”
