Bloomberg TV hires CNBC producer

Ted Fine, executive producer for afternoons at Bloomberg Television, sent out the following email announcement on Friday:

I’m thrilled to announce that Jason Farkas is joining Bloomberg Television as Senior Broadcast Producer. Jason will be my deputy across all afternoon programming. His first focus is helping the ‘Street Smart’ team as we re-launch with the addition of Trish Regan.

Jason comes to Bloomberg Television from CNBC where he was Senior Producer of CNBC SportsBiz, and Trading the Globe, CNBC’s first program dedicated to emerging market investing. Before that he one of the founding producers of Fast Money, and part of the team that launched Options Action, Money in Motion, Strategy Session, and the Fast Money Halftime Report.

Jason starts January 3rd.

Farkas is a graduate of Middlebury College.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
