To say this email is difficult to write would be an understatement. I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know each and every one of you immensely over the past three years. In fact, a not so small number of you have become close friends and mentors. It is for that reason that I am comforted by the fact that our paths will likely cross again very soon. Today is my last day at Bloomberg. My personal contact info is below if you want to stay in touch or find out what’s next (there will still be some fintech).Some of my fondest memories include boxing at Rumble with Ken Lin at Credit Karma even though I first met him after scooping his company’s financials and reporting on it (sorry Ken). I’m also convinced you decided to sell right before I left just to get me to write about you one last time, well played.Or Jon Stein at Betterment emailing me congratulations on my engagement, asking Dan Schulman about boxing rather than PayPal earnings after their quarterly reports #priorities, receiving a text message from Mike Tannenbaum at Brex with a photo of a beautiful new baby girl, or Matt Harris raving about how excited he was to see Eddie Vedder at Money 2020 and telling me I was crazy for leaving before the concert. I could literally go on and on (like drinking wine on stage with Will Gaybrick at Money 2020) but that would be a Medium post and not an email.Anyways, here are the final stories I’ve worked on for Bloomberg.
