Bloomberg reporter Vasquez departs for grad school

Bloomberg News reporter Justina Vasquez has left the news organization to attend graduate school.

She will be going to UNC-Charlotte and studying English literature.

“I really enjoyed Bloomberg — I learned a lot from really smart and talented people,” she said in a message. “But I’m excited to do something new.”

She has been at Bloomberg since September 2017, writing mainly about agriculture, especially the seeds/crop inputs industry and the dairy industry. She has also covered the metals markets and mining companies, currency markets and equity markets.

Vasquez also interned at The Wall Street Journal and on the NPR business news desk.

Vasquez is a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate. While there, she spent time prototyping and researching how journalism can constantly improve at UNC-Chapel Hill’s Reese News Lab. While at UNC, she worked for the North Carolina Business News Wire.
