Bloomberg News reporter Matt Leising is leaving the news organization after 17 years.
He has been covering cryptocurrencies and market structure and has been in New York and Los Angeles bureaus.
“It’s been a great 17 years (!!!) with more than enough ups and downs to write about,” he wrote on Twitter. “Exciting things to come in the #crypto world for me — stay tuned for more.”
Leising also wrote about how blockchain and distributed ledger technology may be applied to finance. He also covered developments and regulatory matters in the derivatives and fixed-income markets.
He came to Bloomberg after three years at the Montclarion newspaper in Oakland, California, and has also written for the Financial Times and the Village Voice among other publications.
The native of Los Angeles has a B.S. degree in biopsychology from University of California Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in journalism from University of California at Berkeley.
