Bloomberg Radio hires BBC’s Hearing for “Daybreak Europe”

Bloomberg Radio has hired Roger Hearing, who has been with the BBC in England for the past 32 years.

Hearing will anchor “Daybreak Europe” show with Caroline Hepker beginning in mid-June.

As well as presenting “World Business News,” Hearing has reported and presented for BBC World Service’s “Newshour,” the “World Today,” “Europe Today” and “World Update” programs.

He was the BBC’s East Africa correspondent in the 1990s, covering the genocide in Rwanda and the fighting between the US/UN and Somali warlords.

Hearing has reported from Iraq, Afghanistan, Angola, Mozambique, Lebanon, Burma and Peru – and has covered nine wars and 22 elections.

He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
