Salama replaces Emma Winchurch-Beale, who has taken on a new role for Bloomberg Media as client lead overseeing all advertising sales categories in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Salama, who joined Bloomberg in 2014 as group advertising director, is an 18-year-veteran of the advertising/publishing industry. Prior to Bloomberg, she held senior management positions at Conde Nast, SELF, SHAPE and Universal McCann, where she covered several different categories including luxury, beauty, tech, and fashion.
“We know taking the publisher’s spot will be a cinch compared to Ali’s climbing to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the summer of 2013,” said Paul Caine, Bloomberg Media’s chief revenue and client partnerships officer.
Bloomberg Pursuits is distributed to all 375,000 Bloomberg Markets subscribers, a readership comprised largely of users of the Bloomberg terminal around the world. Last month, the magazine relaunched under the helm of editor Emma Rosenblum.
