In his new role at Bloomberg’s luxury media brand, Patterson will cover style, fashion, accessories, culture, and much more. His role will extend across all Pursuits platforms from print and digital, to TV and radio.
“Troy is a fantastic writer who brings an unparalleled intelligence to his style coverage,” said Bloomberg Pursuits editor Emma Rosenblum in a statement. “I can’t wait for him to share his curiosity, wit, and good taste with our readers.”
Patterson is a cultural critic who has written on topics ranging from fashion and entertaining to art and lifestyle. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, GQ, W, Men’s Vogue, Bookforum and Sports Illustrated, among other outlets.
Most recently a contributing writer at The New York Times Magazine, Patterson has also been the television critic at Slate, a style and etiquette advice columnist at Slate, the movie critic at SPIN, and the book critic at Entertainment Weekly, where he began his career as an editorial assistant.
Patterson holds a BA in English literature from Princeton University.
