Bloomberg private equity reporter Porter moving to M&A

Kiel Porter

Kiel Porter, a private equity reporter for Bloomberg News in New York, is moving to cover mergers and acquisitions out of its Chicago bureau.

Porter will move to Chicago shortly after the first of the year and cover general M&A news.

He’s been covering private equity in New York since July 2015. Before that, he was a private equity reporter for Bloomberg in London for slightly more than two years.

Porter also worked for two years for Dow Jones covering private equity and venture capital for Financial News, Private Equity News, The Wall Street Journal Europe and Dow Jones Newswires. He began his career as a reporter for Emap.

Porter holds a master’s degree in journalism from Staffordshire University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
