Bloomberg Opinion hires Rieck as social media editor

Kami Rieck

Bloomberg Opinion has hired Kami Rieck as its social media editor.

She will start next month.

Rieck is currently an engagement fellow at the Texas Tribune, where she has worked since January. She has also been working as an audience engagement intern at the Boston Globe.

She was also a social media fellow at Business Insider. She is a senior at Boston University, where she is studying journalism and political science.

At the Globe, she produced social media content for an investigative story of how the coronavirus spread in Massachusetts. She led many audience engagement initiatives on Instagram, including a story series of how the coronavirus upended life on campus for low-income students.

At Boston University, she served as the multimedia editor at The Daily Free Press, the student-produced newspaper.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
