Paul J. Davies — Global Banking Columnist (London)
Paul has been — or, for a few more days, is — the senior markets reporter at the Wall Street Journal in London. While there, he also spent time at the ever-formidable Heard on the Street, covering banks, private equity and other bits of the financial universe. Before coming to the WSJ, Paul was at the Financial Times, serving variously as Asia finance correspondent, insurance correspondent and deputy capital markets editor through the crisis of 2007-2009.
Parmy Olson — Technology Columnist (London)
Parmy comes to us from the Wall Street Journal, too, where she’s been reporting on technology, with a special focus on AI, surveillance, social media and regulation. Before that, she wrote about tech for Forbes, chronicling Facebook’s acquisition of WhatsApp, the burgeoning app economy and more. She is the author of We Are Anonymous, a book about the rise of the legendary hacktivist collective. For fun — and it is fun — check out this TedX talk she gave on facial recognition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pMlf3MVfTc
Wendy Pollack — Senior Editor (New York)
Wendy joins us from The Information, where she helped lead coverage of Google, Airbnb and Facebook, recruited and managed reporters and helped stand up one of the best, most admirable new journalistic projects out there. Wendy began her career at Reuters — reporting on the oil industry, transportation and financial markets — before leaving for the Wall Street Journal, where she spent 13 years creating features and columns and helping to shape the integration of the newspaper’s print and online news operations. Before joining The Information, Wendy spent five years as the director of public affairs at the Regional Plan Association, an urban policy think tank.
