Bloomberg News has named Craig Trudell as its global car czar.
He will write, edit and commission big car stories across regions and across platforms, including Bloomberg Businessweek, Bloomberg Television and Bloomberg QuickTake.
For the past year, Trudell has been Europe automotive and industrial team leader at Bloomberg News, managing a team of reporters in Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Sweden.
Trudell joined Bloomberg in 2009 as a reporting intern on the transportation team, covering autos, railroads and airlines. He was then named banks/corporate bonds/stocks reporter. Later on, he became U.S. automotive reporter and then Asia automotive reporter and editor for the company.
After that, he was appointed U.S. automotive team leader managing a team of reporters in Detroit, San Francisco, New York and Chicago before being promoted to his most recent post.
Trudell was also a reporting intern with Automotive News.
