Bloomberg names new M&A editor

Sarah Rabil, a media reporter for Bloomberg News, has been named a mergers and acquisitions editor for the news service.

Rabil has been with Bloomberg for the past four years. She will work with three reporters and will be working on a new M&A column.

For the past two years, Rabil covered the media conglomerates — Time Warner Inc., News Corp., Viacom Inc. and CBS Corp. — as well as cable TV and AOL. Before that, she covered the newspaper industry for the media team. She previously did stints covering the stock market, corporate bond market and other media companies.

On Twitter, Rabil posted, “Looking forward to the world of deals. I will, of course, miss media.”

Rabil is a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, where she worked at The Daily Tar Heel as a reporter and editor. She interned at the Charlotte Observer business news desk and for Bloomberg News.

DISCLOSURE: Rabil is a former student of mine.
