Alan Goldstein has been promoted to managing editor in charge of the states and municipalities team at Bloomberg News.
Shannon Harrington will take over as team leader for the U.S. corporate finance team, Goldstein’s current position.
Goldstein has been an editor at Bloomberg since March 2007. Before that, he was a reporter and editor on the business news desk of the Dallas Morning News for more than 12 years, and he also spent seven years working on the business news desk at the St. Petersburg Times in Florida.
Goldstein is a Northwestern and Columbia graduate. He replaces Bill Glasgall, who retired last week. He had been at Bloomberg since October 2007 and previously spent 19 years at BusinessWeek magazine.
Harrington has been an editor at Bloomberg News for the past eight years. Before that, he spent time as a reporter for the Bergen Record in New Jersey and the Roanoke Times in Virginia. He is also a Columbia graduate.
