Lanxon was most recently the editor of Wired.co.uk and previously held senior roles at CNET UK. He is a regular commentator on the BBC and Sky News.
He will hold a senior editorial role at Bloomberg Business, the digital relaunch of Bloomberg.com and Businessweek.com, which go live early next year.
He’ll also lead the daily development of the region’s tech, science and media content across all media platforms and serve as the digital change agent working with the editorial and commercial teams on Bloomberg’s digital product offering.
Lanxon joins in February and will be based in Bloomberg’s European headquarters in London, reporting to Ben Clissitt, who was appointed director of digital content at Bloomberg Media in October.
“I am thrilled to be joining Bloomberg at such an exciting time for the company. I have always admired Bloomberg’s dedication to great journalism. At a time where digital innovation is dictating so much change to how news is discovered and told, I could not be more excited to be joining such a technology-driven business,” Lanxton says.
Bloomberg Media includes web, mobile, television, digital video, radio, print magazines and live events.
